Dark CommandosNew Internet Series Now On-Line CONTACT: Ed Gross egross@darkcommandos.com Tom Sanders tsanders@darkcommandos.com
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sanders/Gross Productions announces that the Dark Commandos live-action series has made its online debut at www.darkcommandos.com. Webcast in periodic three-to-five minute episodes, Dark Commandos chronicles the adventures of the Undead Brigade: a team of vampires who undertake secret missions for the U.S. government. Created by Edward Gross and Thomas Sanders, the series stars Justin Neal Thompson as team leader Non Agememnon Gage, who is over 500 years old and was transformed during the Crusades; Bradley Upton as Dreyfuss, the second in command, who was made a vampire during the Spanish-American War; Christopher Boicelli as Ed “The Kid” Torin, turned into a vampire during the Vietnam War; and Amber Phillips as CIA operative Susan Janic, who will essentially serve as the audience’s guide into the world of vampirism. Along with episode one of the series, the site features a number of behind-the-scenes elements, including a “making of” section consisting of interviews with cast and crew members and clips from future episodes. “Dark Commandos,” offers Sanders, who also serves as director, editor and visual effects supervisor, “was designed from the beginning with computer graphics in mind. Every shot includes some form of CG element, whether it’s a virtual set, a graphic overlay or some kind of digital image manipulation. You could describe DC as the inverse of Roger Rabbit. In that film, animated characters inhabited the real world of our universe. In DC, flesh and blood ‘human’ characters inhabit a computer-generated fantasy world. While that sounds expensive, it’s actually the most affordable way we can tell the story we want to tell.” Dark Commandos differs from the majority of original content on the Internet in that it is one of the few live-action, continuing series to be mounted. In addition, it is the only Internet series that will eventually be offered with an option for Spanish or French subtitles. German-language subtitles will be coming soon, with a variety of other languages in the works. “The Internet is the first genuine tool for global communication,” offers Gross, “so it only makes sense to make Dark Commandos available in as many languages as we can.” Episode two – an action-filled entry involving the DC’s efforts to rescue the Vice President’s daughter while in the midst of a car, van and helicopter chase – will go online in early February. |
